I started a small business two and a half years ago. It shares some similarities with the farm I grew up on.
-I work from home.
-Each day is a balance of work, caring for my children, taking care of household tasks and supporting my wife.
-I have no commute.
-I can't complain about my boss.
I buy green specialty coffee, roast it, package it and sell it to businesses. So in rural Wisconsin I stick out a bit. People love to ask how in the world I got into that. I am a curiosity.
I an area where the vernacular of the folks might be described in the words "blue collar, conservative, finite world view"' I describe myself as "progressive, questioning and maybe a bit post modern". I value faith, family, and hard work. So am I really that different? Well, it's complicated. This is the blog of my experiences so far and what I have learned.
